My husband and I went to a church we like for three months last year (and we even recommend to others to this day), but we haven’t been back. In large part because I feel anxiety around the after service fellowship/ coffee bar/ hang out time. They even have soup and salads once a month & do a church camp out every summer… It feels like a lot to have to instantly be friends with people just because we have a loose theological likeness. All that to say- it’s nice to know I’m not alone in these misgivings about church fellowship. And- I hope the dinner went well.
