Study theology,

Study church history.

Make yourself a pariah.

If it’s for your Messiah,

It must be worth it.

Pray like Jesus has all authority,

Pray like faith isn’t positive energy.

Make yourself a pariah.

If it’s for your Messiah,

It must be worth it.

Listen to the critics and think deeply,

Listen to scholars and think freely.

Make yourself a Pharisee.

Embrace that new identity.

It must be worth it.

It’s worth the freedom of your conscience,

Choosing God’s Word over your theological preference.

It’s worth the freedom of your soul,

Allowing the Truth to make you whole.

It’s worth it.
